    With so many different types of sects (Shakyamuni’s teaching equate to about 86,000 sutras) , both Hinayana and Mahayana it would be nice if they all shared that one single element (eating animals) but unfortunately they don’t.

    One can only hope for this mentality to change across the whole spectrum of different faiths. I think the day animals acquire auditory abilities they will always be at danger, even some house pets (in some countries not all).

      Thanks for the comment. Sometimes it is hard to see the glass as half full. Yet I truly believe that we as a society are slowly starting to reduce animal consumption and more and more people each day are embracing a vegetarian, vegan and /or raw diet. Einstein, Ghandi, Buddha and thousands of other leaders have shown us the way *
