Hi Jeff. Yes it is so much cheaper than meat and cheese etc. I don’t know where all that is coming from either except that MickyDs etc has $1.00 hbugers now. It only looks cheap on the surface. I do so appreciate that the main stream tv cooking shows are showing a lot of vegan and vegetarian food nowadays. Check out ABCs “The Chew” today for a great kale salad with a great discussion about the value of it and how to make it palatable to people who aren’t accustomed to it. We get all kinds of interesting shows, but the mainstream just aren’t there yet.

You listed some veg fare. You started with fruit, nuts, etc. I am looking for a quick reference to understand food combining. Would you eat fruit and nuts together? Is that poor combining, ie sugars and fats? I am slow to understand it all, except, I do understand that when it comes to insulin resistance, fat is the culprit to stopping the insulin from getting the sugars to where they need to go. Any ideas?

You are right – Food combining is very important. It is best to avoid mixing foods high in fat with high glycemic foods.
