Jeff, this was really interesting. Fascinating guy. You know, I would like to see you post some additional information about breatharianism . What are the purposes that people have in mind when embarking on something like this? It would seem that something like that should only be done when supported by deep spiritual practices. I know almost nothing about this.

Thanks Mindy !! Breatharian is truly interesting and also fairly controversial and seems to have a few charlatans in it too. It challenges our belief systems to the core. I am no expert on the subject and I have no interest in giving up foods for myself. However, there are some great lessons in Breatharian. I believe it shows us that our “hunger”, “cravings” and “need” for foods may not be what we think they actually are and maybe it can help us re-shape our relationship that we each have with our foods and food choices. If we humans are truly plants, then air, sun and moisture could in fact be the keys to life. See Sunny’s comment here about the book “Living on Light”. Hopefully this will be helpful for you. All this is definitely making me think and say ” Hmmm”. Thanks for the comment- jeff

Hi Jeff, There is a wonderful book about Breatharianism written by Jasmuheen. The book is called: “Living on Light”. It is a book I pick up over and over because it is so inspiring. I think it is out of print but you can get it on Amazon.com.

Thanks Sunny !! I will check it out. I think Breatharian is truly fascinating albeit controversial as it causes us to challenge our beliefs. For me I plan to keep food in my program :)

I believe that what Rolf “apparently” did was a long term water fast. I personally have no interest in stopping to eat as I love food, yet i do think that we can learn a lot from people who try these extended fasts about our own relationship with food. Breatharian experimentation shows us that our “hunger”, “cravings” and “need” for foods may not be what we think they actually are and maybe it can help us re-shape our relationship that we each have with our foods and food choices.
